Seton Hill delivered a championship performance on its home turf Saturday, pulling away in the second half to defeat Davenport Panthers men’s lacrosse 16–10 and secure its fifth G-MAC title—and second consecutive crown—at DSG Field. In a game that started with high intensity and remained physical throughout, both sides matched each other early before the Griffins gradually asserted control.

The opening quarter reflected the evenly matched energy, with Davenport striking first before Seton Hill Griffins men’s lacrosse responded to take a narrow 3–2 lead after one. The back-and-forth pace featured aggressive defense and quick offensive bursts, setting the tone for what would become a hard-fought battle. Davenport’s early composure kept the pressure on, preventing Seton Hill from creating immediate separation.

That separation began to form in the second quarter. After Davenport briefly tied the game at 3–3, Seton Hill surged with a 4–0 run to take a commanding 7–3 advantage into halftime. The Griffins capitalized on sustained offensive pressure and cleaner possessions, while Davenport struggled to slow the momentum. Despite the deficit, the Panthers continued to compete physically, refusing to let the game slip completely out of reach.

The third quarter ultimately proved decisive. Seton Hill extended its lead to as much as 11–4 and closed the frame ahead 12–6, fueled by balanced scoring and efficient ball movement. Carter Li led the Griffins with four goals, while Nate Herbster and Dexter Hannigan each added three, highlighting a well-rounded offensive attack. Davenport found flashes of offense behind Tommy Becker’s four goals and Luke Eichbauer’s three, but could not string together enough stops defensively to mount a full comeback.

Both teams traded goals evenly in the fourth quarter, each scoring four, as Davenport continued to battle until the final whistle. The physicality never let up, with multiple penalties underscoring the intensity of the championship stage. In the end, Seton Hill’s depth and second-half dominance proved too much, sealing a 16–10 victory and another G-MAC championship as they continue to establish themselves as a powerhouse in the conference.
