PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh used a dominant second-half stretch to pull away from Robert Morris and secure a 15–10 win Tuesday at Highmark Stadium. The two sides battled evenly early, with neither team able to create much separation through the opening half as the game remained tight and back-and-forth.
Robert Morris found success early behind balanced scoring, with multiple players contributing to keep pace. Mia Berthoff and Samantha Brothers each finished with three goals, helping fuel the Colonials’ offensive push. Pittsburgh answered with its own firepower, led by Kaitlyn Giandonato and Avery Moon, who consistently created opportunities and kept the Panthers within striking distance.
The turning point came after halftime, when Pittsburgh took control of the game. A strong third quarter, highlighted by a surge of goals and improved possession, allowed the Panthers to build a multi-goal cushion. Giandonato finished with four goals and three assists, while Moon added four goals of her own, pacing an offense that outshot Robert Morris 42–15 and controlled draw opportunities throughout the second half.
Robert Morris made a late push in the fourth quarter, scoring several times down the stretch to narrow the gap, but the deficit proved too large to overcome. Despite the comeback effort, Pittsburgh’s second-half execution ultimately made the difference, sealing a hard-fought win in a game that was far more competitive than the final score suggests.
