The Foxes earned a 4–2 victory over the Allegheny Badgers on Friday night in MLK Classic tournament play, pulling ahead in the second half of a competitive and physical 18U AA matchup at Alpha Ice Complex.
Allegheny set the tone early, capitalizing on special teams with two power-play goals in the first half. Thomas Lavelle and Colby Herron each found the back of the net, rewarding a strong start that featured good puck movement, defensive structure, and disciplined zone entries.

The Foxes responded after the break, raising their pace and pressure in the offensive zone. Special teams proved decisive, as the Foxes struck three times on the power play in the second half. Cameron Lorenzi led the way with a two-goal performance, while Seamus Coyle and Austin Dzadovsky added timely goals during the Foxes’ surge.

Despite some costly turnovers and penalties in the second half, the Badgers continued to compete hard and generate chances, keeping the game within reach. The final minutes were marked by increased physicality and emotion as both teams battled through a chippy finish.
In the end, the Foxes’ execution on special teams and ability to convert key opportunities in the second half made the difference, allowing them to come out on top in a well-contested tournament game. The Foxes will take on the Keystone Wild in their next matchup at 6:50 Saturday night at the Belmont Ice Complex. The Badgers will take on Ashburn at 8:50 Saturday night at the Alpha Ice Complex.
