Seton Hill came out with purpose Wednesday night at the McKenna Center, setting the tone early and never letting up in an 85-70 PSAC victory over Pitt-Johnstown. The Griffins applied relentless pressure from the opening tip, forcing turnovers and converting them into fast break opportunities while controlling the pace on both ends of the floor.

Freshman Dean Simos was electric, attacking the paint and consistently getting to the free throw line. Simos poured in a game-high 25 points while knocking down 9-of-11 from the stripe and grabbing eight rebounds, showcasing poise well beyond his years. He was the spark that kept the Griffins’ offense humming all night.

The frontcourt duo of Kendrick Curtis and Dimitrios Sklavenitis dominated the glass and controlled the interior. Curtis finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Sklavenitis anchored the paint with 13 points and 15 rebounds. The pair’s physicality created second-chance opportunities and limited UPJ’s ability to establish rhythm inside.

Seton Hill’s starters set the tone from start to finish, combining for 83 of the team’s 85 points. The Griffins outscored the Mountain Cats 49-43 in the second half, maintained control on the boards (48-36 rebounding edge), and never surrendered the lead.

From the opening possession to the final buzzer, Seton Hill stayed on the gas pedal — aggressive, composed, and in control — securing a statement conference win on their home floor.
